Help me choose my first Android!

Thread Starter
So I'm going to US Cellular in a week to pick up 2 new Android devices, one for the wife and one for me. I'm stuck between the HTC Desire and Samsung Mesmerize Galaxy S.

I'm almost completely sold over the Desire but I've been looking at videos and reading forums all day and It seems the Mesmerize "AKA Fascinate" does games better and has the 4" S-AMOLD screen.

The only thing holding me back from the Mesmerize is the finger print magnet gloss finish and the stock android OS. I'm a huge fan of the Sense UI and I'm not sure why, it just seems less serious and it has leap.

Both phones will get android 2.2 froyo next month so that's not a issue either.

So the question for you Android users out there is. What do you think I should get?

The Galaxy S is such a nice phone.
I wish I had one, but I'm stuck with my Moto Cliq :/

Just get a protector cover (skin) for the body of the phone and a screen protector and you're set on the "gloss" worries of the Galaxy S

If I go with the Mesmerize I'll get this cover for it. Seems to look and fit the way I want it. Jump ahead to 1:08 for the case

if you wait a little while longer there are going to be a lot of new phones released....also the samsung galaxy S (fascinate and mesmerize flavor) use a gpu which can render 90 million triangles per second (tps) as opposed to the iphone 4 being 14 and the Droid X being 14...

just something to think about

So I guess the only thing holding me back is the Sense UI, but can't you load Sense to the Mesmerize?

Looks decent, but I hate shells, I like the rubber/silicon cases since they don't snap on to the phone.
