My water cooling questions

Thread Starter
Well, I've run into a bit of a planning issue! I want my case to be the nzxt phantom, which it seems isn't the best for water cooling. So my plan is to get the 240 rad XSPC kit, and a 120 rad to mount externally. I would be cooling a CPU and possibly a gpu.

I wish I could provide more details than that, but like I said, I'm still in the planning phase so parts haven't really been picked out yet.

My main question is, does that loop in general sound good? Would it be able to cool an overclocked CPU and a high end GPU?

Thanks!

Whats your budget?

If your going to cool a cpu and gpu Id get a 360 radiator.

XSPC makes a rs (and maybe an RX) 360 kit. Id look into getting one of those.

My budget including peripherals is going to be around $2000, maybe a bit more, maybe a bit less.

I WOULD go for the 360 rad, but it doesn't fit inside the nzxt phantom without modding.

So I was thinking pump/res to 240 rad, to cpu, to external 120 rad, to gpu back to pump/res if I decide to get a gpu block as well.

360 worth of rad with some quality fans will be fine for a cpu and gpu.

get a differnt case and use the 360 rad
you'll be much happier

I really love my cosmos S case
and i've actuall put a 480 rad in it (had to give up the top drive bay to do it but Its in there
a 360 rad will mount with no trouble at all

From what I understand, the other case I like is even worse for water cooling Raven RV01

Order doesn't really matter, as long as you have the pump before the res you'll be fine. If its the XSPC kit with the res/pump combo then it won't matter.

You will need to order some kind of biocide to prevent algae growth. Silver killcoil or PTNuke. Then just the distilled water from your local grocery store and you're set.

Np man, welcome to water cooling.
