I guess I'm one of those few who notice a striking difference between 120fps and 60 fps. After playing at 120fps for an hour or so then capping down to 60fps makes a huge difference to me. Every motions seems so smooth at 120fps....so to say there is no difference is just a matter of opinion.

Theres a limit to which your eyes can respond to light, like i said its about 1/200 of a second max, decreasing with age im going to guess, so the youth may be able to take advantage of 240 hz tv's ?

They human eye can certainly perceive the difference between 60 and 120 fps. However for gaming 60FPS is just as good as 120FPS if not better.

I see no noticeable difference when using 120hz only when I enable judder reduction and Motion plus is when the image is different and not necessarily better.

Also one 580 will not be enough to maintain an average framerate over 120,seeing as how one of my 580s only does an average of 85fps when set at 1080p.

There probably is, but it's no where near 1/200. Camera flashes are WAY faster than 1/200

My gtx 470 @ 900 core gets between 56-140 or something, average is around 80 depending on the map.

Thats with everything maxed out, you'll need at least sli for 120 min.

Thread Starter
Sigh, you really need to play at 120fps to actually be able to comment on this. I personally can notice a drop to 55, 48 etc from 60fps, maybe it is more to do with how the monitor handles it, either way, I know what I feel. I play fps games, have done for years. It's really not hard to tell the difference between monitors, refresh rates etc. I would play without hsao so that should get me a few fps I think.

I'll get my little tight pants on and skip down to the computer shop tomorrow for one of those big jobbies. Out of interest, which of the following from this page should I pick (if anyone is still listening) http://www.scan.co.uk/Shop/Computer-...I-E-(512-Cores) there is quite a bit of difference from the top one to say one of the hot sellers (in price).

Thanks to those who know what they are talking about, this place is always good for lots of input.

P.S. anyone want to buy a 5870? haha. I'll probably give it to one of my friends, only got it just over a month ago, lul.
