H50 bad temp

Thread Starter
ok so I wanted to get a Thermalright TRUE 120 today, but I got the H50 for a good deal. Installed it and started IntelBurn and mins later I'm at 75C so I canceledit. What could be wrong, bad mount, bad unit? I have it push/pull with LIAN LI LI121225BL-4 120MM fans.

EDIT: side panel is off right now, wasn't off with the Ninja and I max temp was 67C 68C

The H50 really isn't that amazing of a cooler. what is your max temp you hit? like if you keep it running, that chip should be able to handle way hotter then 75c.

That may be but I want to stay under 70C top. Max temp with the H50 don't know not going that hot. I liked the 67C with the Ninja way better.

I used the stuff that came with it? Why should I replace it with AS5?

So you are saying you got a brand new H50? As you said you used the paste with it, so i'm assuming you did. Could you post some pictures of the setup and how you installed it.

You just had a bad mount or something. But yes, the paste the comes with it is much better then AS5. Many people overlook the fact that it is shin-etsu.

AS5 isn't bad, but the stock paste on the h50 is better.

Thats what I was reading and why I left it in the first place.

The H50 was brand new, sure here a picture. The fan is dirty but I'll be replace them with something better if I keep the H50. I may still just get the TURE to replace it.

EDIT: forgot the picture. lol
