H50 bad temp - Page 9

Can you also post a picture of what your paste looks like when you remove the pump? Also use a cross pattern to tighten down the pump lock. Like doing 1 & 4 and then 2 & 3. The pump motor should be turning in the 1,400 area also. I think you may have something in the bios set to power feature stopping it from the full rpms.

1/2 Turn each screw and go clockwise until snug, then go one more 1/2 turn on each.

And typically INTAKE is a better setup for the H50/H70 if you have good case vent, exhaust is better if you have bad case ventilation.

I guess the way you have your fans set up is a matter of preference and what works best with one rig doesn't necessarily work as well for another. Personally I only have a modest overclock on the CPU and like a silent PC, so I use push/pull on exhaust and that means all my drives and other components are that little bit cooler inside, the unit is whisper quiet and the reference cooler on the 5850 doesn't need to do much work.

I've no doubt that if you use push/pull on intake it can be usefull, especially if you use the CPU rad fans to cool your GPU memory with a large heatsink for example, but if you have a midi case like me it's just not as practical.

Touche' yea like I said earlier my rad is in the top front end of my case, and with the 1200's big top fan on exhaust the difference of having the rad on intake vs exhaust is ~1-2f case temp.

I'd like to get a bigger case and floor mount the PSU etc, but that would mean buying a new desk too and I just can't afford that I've had to modify our little £15/£20 wilkos computer desk to fit all the kit on it at decent levels.

I think you can see the how the case only just squeezes in in this slightly rubbish pic:

you don't listen. we have told you that fans are not going to effect your temps that much. You aren't getting bad temps because of the fans, it is something else. so go waste your money on fans if you would like.
