Did everyone else miss the part in the video that shows you need to tap the screen to cliff jump and then stroke "haha" the back to climb a rope?

??? that **** is getting ridiculous there better be an option to just tap up on a analog stick I dont want to have to incorporate all these lame ass gestures into playing a game.

if you read correctly - all of that is pretty much optional. The gestures though make it more involved. To be able to stroke to climb is simple and more involved than pushing up on an analog stick. Both methods are available though.

ok.. well then it might not be so bad. now if they can also make it a phone, i would me more likely to buy one. the main issue i face is i will not carry more than one device everyday / currently that device is my htc evo phone.

Even if you decrease the graphical fidelity and things like textures, graphical effects, polygon model counts - the maps or levels of the game are still very large for the system to handle. Crysis, even on the lowest possible settings and then some with edits to the configs, can be taxing merely because of size and scape. I could be wrong about this, but that would be my understanding of it.

Something like Dead Space on the other hand, or as shown - Metal Gear, I'd say it's clearly possible. Levels are confined to individual sections rather something like Crysis or Rage where it's massive stages where loading menus are far inbetween.
Hmm.. Isn't the RAM for NGP higher than the 360 and PS3? But wouldn't it be harder to compare because of the difference in architecture?

Can't they just compress files heavily for the New Proprietary Game Cards (sticks) and use the NGP's RAM and raw power to offset loading times?

I am just wondering xD I really don't know much of the technicalities though.

If Crysis 2 and Fallout NV is able to fit in the 360 in just 1 disc, I don't see it too hard for NGP given a few more months or more than a year.

I dont know about the RAM amount. I'm not aware of how much it has. And I suppose architecture would make a big different. I'm not genius at this stuff, I plan on studying it in college and what not but I'm not there just yet. Merely just trying to make logical speculation here.

The thing with compressing files is one thing, but when you see a level like the ones in Crysis - they're massive not just in physical size (MB/GB) but scape. You run all around large portions of the island where as in a game like Dead Space: you're in corridors for example. There is only so much room for you to travel in. On a computer, our systems can handle running around an island without loading much or loading progressively as we move about where as something like Dead Space - loading takes place between doors.

Games like Metal Gear give you the illusion that there is a whole gigantic facility to explore but the stages/levels/maps are nothing but corridors as well.

Games like GTA or Fallout on the PS3 pale in comparison to the 360 version in many different ways because of RAM limits. The RAM has an ever so slight less amount that is enough to spell horror for alot of different things when they get ported over to a point where the game looks pretty bad. Fallout in particular because the bluray drive is so slow when it reads, you get alot of stuttering when walking around because it has to load. The draw distances are scaled down in comparison, textures are of less fidelity, and a whole bunch of other noticeable stuff.

I mean, I could see a Rage or perhaps even a Crysis game on the NGP. It's quite possible. But I wouldn't expect the possibility of a console version being on it unlike the possibility of say a direct port of a Dead Space console version.

Err.. I still see it possible if what "they" say about NGP is "transparent" the same as the PS3 but 0.90/2 in polygon pushing power. If so, just decrease the amount of polygons right? And lessen and/or shadow qualities. Don't add AA.

IDK, if CryTek would be really interested though. But maybe it's also a good time since PS3 and 360 are really compromised now.

Crysis 2 doesn't seem to be like Crysis 1 (more open and huge draw distance). [look at my recent post I said "something" like Crysis 2 for NGP]

Wow, this is getting more and more interesting. I really wanna see a fallout or
Crysis (1 this time) in a handheld even in a dumbed down visual.

I don't think it's impossible to put any game on the handhelds (3DS or NGP). What's gonna happen is how dumbed down would it be (visually [most likely] compared to it's contemporary HD console counter part)?

If Ghost of Sparta is possible on PSP1 (if you can forgive the screen tear and drop in FPS from time to time), I really am very confident in what the NGP can do smile.gif
