Which Brand of 6970?

Thread Starter
Im currently running 2x 6870's and have only put the computer 2getha 2months ago, but have been very impressed with the 6970 reviews. So i think in a couple months im gonna upgrade to them. Now the question is wat brand to get? Im currently using the powercolor 6870's and think they're great but looking at newegg.com XFX have got a couble lifetime warrenty on parts n labour. Then the asus card has the 890mhz factory overclock. But then there's MSI, powercolor, and HIS. Too many damn choices!!! In terms or reliabilty and bang for buck wat do u guys think??

Don't get XFX.

Get Asus or MSI, they have the better warranties.

In a couple months the MSI 6970 TwinFrozr should be out, so get that.

I'd usually lean towards Asus or MSI personally. XFX is a joke, avoid their cards at all costs anymore. The more we get the word out on it, the quicker they'll fix their crap support, and give us cards that work after they've messed up the reference design.

There's also Gigabyte, but I don't recommend them based off personal experience. Others will swear by them though. And my experience was a low end motherboard anyway.

But yeah, I'd say Asus or MSI.

Only thing we're waiting on in that time is the 6990. Which isn't a new series, just a dual GPU flagship card.

I was tied between powercolor and xfx as they were the cheapest, i decided to go for powercolor because i have heard some nightmare stories about xfx. Id imagine ASUS would be the best though.
