right now, the way i see it is: the older, the samller drives tend to be more reliable...

at least I think like that because I've been using my very old hard drives for years and they still run fine

ie, right now one of them is:

I've been using it for like 4 years without any problem
one for a year and one for about six months

COOLER MASTER Silent Pro Gold Series RSA00-80GAD3-US 1000W ATX 12V v2.3 / EPS 12V v2.92 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Just making sure I have enough room whenever I do some upgrades...

That one should be fine right? or is there a better 1000W power suppply than that?

It's not fully modular but I can hide the wires on the back of the HAF X case so I guess I will be fine o.o

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817800002 is a better unit than the Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold 1000W. That'd be my recommendation if you want a 1000W unit. Plus it's cheaper than the Cooler Master.

That sparkles thing is a bit ugly :u

I like the cooler master one because its black and looks cool with my HAF X case... xD

I understand, that's up to you. I don't care for appearances personally so my recommendations are based only on pure performance and value, which that Sparkle excels at compared to that Cooler Master

Isn't there another good 1000w PSU other than that sparkles?

like can you list something like top 5

And what's the differences between the cooler master PSU and the Sparkles PSU?

The Sparkle unit offers better ripple suppression over the CM Silent Pro Gold.
I'll be honest, there aren't a lot of good units that aren't overpriced in the 1000W range, and honestly I believe the Sparkle is one of the very best right now, if not the best.
Not quite 1000W but the Antec HCG-900 is a very good performer as well. And the Enermax Revolution85+ 1020W is also pretty good, but it's more expensive than that Sparkle unit, and just not as good (but better than the Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold 1000W).

What about the CORSAIR HX Series CMPSU-1000HX 1000W Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply

Just need one that is as good as the Sparkes PSU and doesn't look as bad as it xD

Get a good 850w instead. 850w will handle any dual GPU config in existence and probably will continue to. Only get 1kw+ if you plan on going Tri SLI.

And no, the HX1000 isn't worth it.
