Hey guys,

Just wanted to say hi and maybe get some feedback on my new build. Put it together this weekend and looking to do some overclocking before it goes to its owner.

I built it for my uncle, who is patiently waiting for Diablo III and wanted to get into the 21st century with some style. This built I got completely from Newegg.com (they are the best, 2nd build by them). It cost a total of $600 and specs are follows.

CPU: AMD Phenom II X2 560 Black Edition Callisto 3.3GHz
MOBO: ASUS M4A88T-V EVO/USB3
GPU: ASUS EAH6850 DirectCU/2DIS/1GD5
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws 8GB (2 x 4GB) - F3-10666CL9D-8GBRL
HDD: Western Digital 320GB
Optical: ASUS DRW-24B1ST DVD-Burner
PSU: RAIDMAX VOLCANO RX-630A
Case: COOLER MASTER Elite 430
OS: Windows Vista SP2 64-bit

CPU cooling: AMD Phenom stock sink and fan w/ Artic Silver 5
GPU cooling: ASUS stock sink and fan w/ Artic Silver 5
Case Fans: 4 x 120MM

Please let me know what you think!

Wind 7 x64 would have been better, and a PII 955 would be better in terms for gaming or one of the tri-core ones. Also look to see if you can unlock the CPU as I know some can. And hopefully that raidmax psu doesn't fry the system as Im not sure if they upped there quality since the last time I had one. Other then that I would say it works fine for now and future gaming!

I agree that W7 is much, much better. I installed it on my 5-yr old Ferrari 4000 Laptop and it has done wonders. That plus the 2 Gig RAM upgrade literally brought it back to life.

But he, (my uncle), didn't really want to shell out that much at this time just to get up and running, and I couldn't blame him. So I had a copy of Vista x64 on MSDNAA (however, getting a clean .iso proved to be a pain in the a**) and figured that would be second best.

And about the Raidmax PS, yeah I'm not too sure I trust a PS with the name Volcano, haha... but we'll see.
