I use isopropyl. I dont like to use vinegar cause it eats the welds on ur copper rad. With alcohol u can just use it pure. Just make sure to rinse everythin out at least 4 times and shake it well.

Chemically, that doesn't make much sense. Isopropyl is a mediocre solvent for this application. It will get rid of gummy, slimy, or oily deposits, but most of what I've found in my experience is mineral buildup. Oxygen diffuses into the system through the tubing and a little through the seals- not leaks, but a permeation of the matrix. That, in turn, reacts with the copper and brass in your radiator and leaves an oxide layer that is a poor thermal conductor. The capacity of the rad surfaces to remove dissolved oxygen and oxidizers maintains a diffusion gradient across the tubing walls such that it never equilibrates- oxygen keeps moving in. The vinegar (or phosphoric acid, oxalic acid, sulfamic acid, any other corrosion remover) will strip the oxide layer off and refresh the internal surfaces of your system. The blue-green crap that comes out is the bad stuff, it is not your "welds" being "eaten" since radiators are soldered with tin alloy, it just doesn't work that way. I just find the practice of alcohol cleaning and aversion to vinegar a bit odd from my perspective.
