Agreed! NO game should make you hit 70+ that seems ridiculous to me....
Seems to me like if you ran a serious stress test like LinX (any linpack variant I guess) you'd be well over 90c and THAT is bad juju.... makes double posting look like J-walking lol.....
I don't know much about your cooler but it does look a lot like a prolimatech megahalem (not that looks mean ANYTHING but it SHOULD perform similarly i.e. within like 5-10c or so)
and there's just no way that is right.... unless you're nearing 1.5v vcore....
I have a dopey C2Q Q9550 that I've had at 1.48 @ 4.2Ghz and couldn't get it over 83c (I know different architecture different coolers etc apples and oranges but.... damn)
I guess what I'm getting at is.... somethin' ain't right cletus....
and like everyone else said different temp along the cores is not only normal but pretty much expected.... because the DTSs (Digital Thermal Sensors) might not be perfectly calibrated.... one core might just run hotter
I had another quad that had it's Tcase sensor always reporting 235c
I didn't know sensors could be bad like that so I freaked out a bunch before I checked the cores
