Computer Randomly freezing

Thread Starter
Hi all,

I have been having some issues with my new SSD and it seems like it might be the problem, but now I am not sure. My computer would just freeze randomly. It froze while idle and while I was surfing. So I thought it might be a driver issue. I booed into safemode w/networking , left it on all night and it never froze. Could it be a driver causing the issue? I have no problems with my Samsung drive which has all of the same drivers (I think). Should I just do a fresh install?

well, try fresh install.
if its still freezing, you can look into other components like psu.

do one thing before you do a fresh install.
check event logs for kernal power 41 errors
something like this

if you find any, i will most probably be your psu. you will likely not, as you have a corsair psu

I do see that error, but only 2-3 times. There are other errors in the log. I also ran the computer in safe mode with no freezing, so I do not think it is a hardware issue. I am removing drivers one at a time to see if I can track down the error.

EDIT:

Looks like I may have found the problem. After searching, I found that 2 audio drivers were installed and fighting each other. I looked and I havea Nvidia and a Realtek audio driver. I disabled Nvidia to see if that fixes it.
