My original PSP was stolen at work and after that I really never cared to try and replace it. If this can make some what of a TRUE multimedia portable device(mp3,video, internet, gaming) I might look into getting one. Too me it was a little big to be walking around with the original PSP as a MP3 player. Touch controls would help alot also.

At 200MHz core frequency an SGX543MP4 (four cores) will deliver 133 million polygons per second and fill rates in excess of 4Gpixels/sec**. Higher frequencies or a larger number of cores each deliver more performance. At 400MHz core frequency an SGX543MP8 (eight cores) will deliver 532 million polygons per second and fill rates in excess of 16Gpixels/sec.

A Portable Console / Media Center with Wireless N, wow....

I fear this thing will be the target of many thieves & muggers, or anyone who wants to make a quick $100-$200...

I don't think I'd let my kid take one of these to school, definitely not...

Furthermore, it's not something they need to take to the bathroom or to play at the dinner table with, I just cannot see the point of this other than maybe something cooler than an iPhone maybe?

I mean the iPhone is nice, but it's primary focus is usually phone right?

Here you have an MP3/MP4 player (Audio & Video), a Gaming Console, Wireless N for Internet? & it doesn't look too big, larger than an iPhone & smaller than a tablet, but large enough to watch HD Movies on maybe?

This thing is very attractive, definitely, but it's still for those on the go type of people, like kids. I doubt this thing could play long without a wall outlet for power, a quad core cpu, whoosh! That's pretty wild, cool, and sexy all in one! Say what's that sticking out of your pants kid?

4-6 Hours Gaming? I think we will need to proof of that, surely..

Still a year off...I'd like to buy one for myself just to goof around with but I'm not sure I have enough space for yet another mobile device.

Still waiting on some official battery specs, although I think we can expect at least 4-6 hours.

I love how people just assume that more cores = more power draw. Didn't anybody read nVidia's article on the Tegra 2 and how it actually consumes less power because of the multiple cores?

Anyway, I agree that this will probably be priced at $300. Over $300 and they're competing with themselves (see: PS3). And with the 3DS at $250, people would be tempted to spend an extra $50 for a handheld that has the same functionality as a DS (minus the 3D on the 3DS) and more. This thing can literally replace every mobile device you carry. Except for maybe your phone, unless they release Skype for it.

Oh my god if they have an app store where anyone can develop and submit an app, they will have hit a gold mine. Sony, please take that into consideration, but an approval process must be in place so it doesn't end up like the Android Marketplace (for the record, I do own a Droid).
