Same way, sensors, and it'll tell you what to add and where to add it (or if you want it to add it yourself). There really isn't a difference.

Well I am confused as to what is what lol. Here's a screenshot. Also, why does it seem that mine is not fully transparent like other screenshots that I have seen?

Greetz
I have a conky config I like a lot (even shows open ports) even though at some point I plan to pare it down to avoid redundancy with plasmoids that do it with less of a system hit. Before I do that, though, I need to wade through how and why conky behaves so differently in different DEs. In Window Maker and XFce it is perfect including transparency but in KDE the gnome wallpaper bleeds through and not just behind conky but for half the screen. I wouldn't mind some insight on that.

I think it has to do with how KDE handles the desktop + plasmoids. I've also noticed that and there isn't a config in conky to remove it, might be a KDE thing.

Maybe, but since no other program of any kind does that except conky that I know of, much of the responsibility must be laid at it's feet. I can see zero correlation to Plasmoids. It would seem to me that the basic conflict is between KDE and Gnome as to how they handle Desktop Background/Wallpaper, but I am glad to find out that you have noticed it too, mushroomboy, because in my case Gnome is sorta shoehorned in as it is not officially supported so it's easy to be distracted by that as a unique quirk. Apparently it is a 3-way cluster fsck.

What I mean is that KDE has the plasma-desktop, it's plasma extensions might be interfering. You also have no other program used in the way conky is used, such as it's border-less and stuck on the desktop. I'm sure if you gave it's border back you'd see the off coloration disappear. It's only when you attach it to the desktop that it gets a special border around it that isn't fully transparent, like the plasmoids....

Here's a screenie that shows 4 plasmoids (3 of which are different iterations of STDIN) and the Gnome bleed I'm talking about as well as transparencies. Notice the Gnome desktop wallpaper of the lady astronaut on the ISS only shows where conky collides. The left half is without the ghosting of the Gnome background. I've read that conky behaves differently in different DEs but have yet t nail down how to either stop the bleeding or limit the width the way I want. Awfully cool app tho/

PS the effect is kinda cool and has made consider combining the 2 as layers.

That's a unique problem, I'm not sure about the wallpaper, that's just weird.
