OCing 6870 past 1000 core

Hello everyone. I've got my 6870 at 1000/1225 at the moment and was wondering what I would need to go past the 1000 mark. I've been using afterburner and the card is stable at those clocks at 1.275 volts. It idles at 29c - 34c and after an hour of Metro or Crysis hits about 58 - 60c. The fan is at 50% right now but that doesn't really matter to me because I usually wear a headset. Any help on what to do would be greatly appreciated.

Those clocks are very good for a 6870 already.

I know, I just want to push it a tad bit more, maybe 1050 core and try to max out the memory speed.

More volts is the way to overclock a GPU, however heat becomes issue, and then there will be a point no extra volts will help at all. Im not sure if your brand has voltage control or not. Reading a few forums its been suggested that 1.3v is safe max.

See this thread.

I would bump it too 1.3v like others are saying. 60C during gaming doesn't seem like much to me.

What I'm asking is what tools I need to be able to put it past 1000. Afterburner sets my max the same as CCC. Also, about volt modding. My ram speed at 1250 is still unstable when at 1.3v.

Use the beta afterburner. Also modify the afterburner.cfg file and set the enableunofficialoverclocking to =1. currently will be set to =0

Sorry for off topic, 50% fanspeed isn't loud. i have that 24/7, doesn't bother me, i wear a headset too, and at night i have air con noise. my old 5970s were louder on auto fan
