If the kid cheated, he cheated. And deserves to be punished by MS's set policy like everyone else.

It doesn't matter if someone else did it under his gamertag or not, there was cheating involved either way.

For example, Steam has a zero-tolerance policy for cheating which includes a ban on VAC servers. One day I left my PC on while I was away, and my younger brother downloads aimbot and messes around on CS:S servers with it, without my knowledge. I come home and I find out I'm banned, and I didn't know why until I contacted Steam, and they told me an aimbot was found and I was banned. There goes my $50 (back in '05)...

It was my fault for leaving the PC open while I was away.
Solution: Delete all the hacking crap my younger brother downloaded, buy another steam account+games I play, and secure it.

It's simply because of the many times I have heard of people getting their gamerscore reset, and/or getting suspended. So either thousands of people are lying hoping that MS will undo the changes, or they do make some mistakes. Both are possible. It is a fact that MS makes mistakes, it is very common for them to ban or suspend one user twice for the same offense. It is also a fact that people lie..

It is also possible, that he stumbled across a glitch or came across some people that said they would "help" him earn more prestige in Call of Duty.. Who knows, I really have no reason to defend the kid; i'm simply bored.

I never said he wasn't cheating. What kind of an argument does an opinion need?

He cheated.

...but he's autistic, and that makes it OK, right?

How is microsoft supposed to know he is autistic? It's not like they look into everyones background before they knock you for cheating...

Exactly. They clearly have evidence that he was cheating and dealt with the situation just like they have a thousand times over. Him being Autistic has nothing to do with this. He was clearly up to something.

This is just a sad, sick attempt by the kid and mom to get some news coverage and to get his stuff back.

I use to play Combat Arms, and people claimed to have reported me for using an aimbot. My account was stripped of all the currency, guns, and rank. That is the punishment on there, they don't "ban". Though, I never used any cheat. Apparently, because I was better than everyone I must have been cheating. With enough reports, they just assumed I did. So, I was stripped of my stuff. Never played since.

My younger brother is fully autistic and this is sickening to see. Anyone who happens to be better than the rest is labeled as a cheater? Autistic children understand the mechanics of things much much better than the majority of people out there. This makes them much better at gaming than everyone else. Then again, he's 11. If that's his only friend, the parent needs to seriously try something else and get him a friend or two. Fixating on things like a gaming console isn't healthy for the everyday person, let alone a autistic child.

It's the parent's fault that the kid has only one outlet. My brother has roughly 6-7 different things he knows he can do.
