22" or 21.5/23"? Is HD needed?

Thread Starter
Does having the term "HD" make graphics on the screen any better? I have a 1680x1050 22" 16:10 monitor and want to get another monitor for a dual display. I will be mainly be using it for schoolwork like solidworks/mathcad. Should I get another 22" or get a 23/21.5 that is "HD" and 16:9? What are the benefits to having 1920x1080?

Thanks

"HD" is only marketing-ese for 1080 resolution+. The only real advantage ofver 1680x1050 being the wider screen.
