SSD For Just Windows 7

Thread Starter
Hey guys, I am in need of a SSD, for just boot times.. my HDD isn't that slow, but I just want a SSD for just windows, so it can load faster and all that what not.. what would be a decent size to get, 32GB, 64GB? I want to get the cheapest, and most affordable SSD for what I am using it for.

a 64gb will maintain about 20gb free on your hard drive with a few essential programs on your boot drive. 32 gb is a nono.

Unless you install hundreds of apps, or you want to stick games on your SSD, 32GB is more than enough.

A full install of Windows 7 & Office is less than 20GB.

I think on my SSD with win7 installed I have 17gb left over. Plenty of room for antivirus and other applications.

I would go with something bigger then 32GBs for an SSD even if a full install of Windows 7 doesn't take up that much. For starters, you can install a couple programs on it and maybe a game or two with a 64GB or bigger drive, and second, it gives you room for future Windows 7 updates.
