Get an asus as their prices are actually lower than most and you know your getting a good build. If its a tigh budget get an acer (if you must). If neither of those suit him all I can say is stay away from hp. My whole family has gone thru hps and mine is the only one that hasnt had an issue with screen lines from the monitor coming loose. This is all from normal wear and tear no traveling or anything really. If i had to reccomend a brand it would be dell because my dads xps feels like a high quality went into it.

That being said why would he want a 17" monitor if he doesnt game? Is this for school where he will tote it around to classes or just gunna be at home most the time?

Ty for answer. He just said he want a 17" screen, he never actually had any
kind of notebook, and he rarely uses a desktop tongue.gif
I guess he asked for a 17" because he does not like to see little things on the
screen, and because he could show better photos/videos.
Guys this friend of mine is a PC nub xD! But you understand i want to give to
him what he likes and what he asked to me, even if i do not understand his
choices as you all i guess... Anyway he's 33 years old as me so no school and
surely nothing about his job.
That being said, any kind of asus around € 500 could do well?
May i have some notebook name to check it please?
About the CPU intel or any other would be ok, i erased that intel preference.

Ok, after an evening reading about notebooks i think i will get him this one:

Asus K52JC-EX098
Intel Core i3 370M / 2.4 GHz - RAM 4GB DDR3 - Screen 15.6" HD Ready - Hard Disk 500 GB - GPU nVidia GeForce 310M / 1GB - DVD SuperMulti Dual-Layer - Wireless LAN b/g/n - Webcam - Card Reader - HDMI - 6 cells battery - Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

Checked CPU and GPU, seems good to me.

It goes for 600 € here in italy.

Dont buy that yet as I think there are better deals after seeing the american price. Unless computers are more expensive where you are then its prob ok.

can u order from places like newegg or anything american or it just costs wayyy too much?
