Dell Inspiron E1505 XP re format... issues

Short story.
Dell Inspiron E1505 2004-2005 ish...

This laptop is loaded with porn virus.... Guy at work asked me to take a look at it. Re format if necessary.
However it will not read the XP install disc. Reads media dvd's and cd's, but does not read an XP install disc. I also tried to run Dariks Boot and Nuke to wipe the HDD, but it doesn't recognize that disc either.

I can get it to load win 7 32bit to just after "loading files" and the screen that asks what you want to do for installation. But then it asks for drivers, is it asking for chipset drivers?
I have never had this issue and do not have a f'ing clue what is up.

Last night I attempted to update the BIOS from a USB floppy... No success there either.

Tempted to removed the HDD from the laptop and nuke it from an external hookup.

Not sure where to go from here.

It shouldn't be asking for drivers. I have a Inspiron 1501 and when I installed Win7, it never asked me for anything. Maybe try making a USB key with WinXP and install it that way?

Anyway you can hook it up to the internet and use some online transfer service such as dropbox and move files through that and nuke it, then continue from there?
