Okay guys so here is my buildlog for my system that never seems to end, I cant stop working on it rolleyes.gif

UPDATES -

2/14/12 – Cooler update and thread revival with upgrade plans
6/18/12 – Nvidia GPU cooler mod

ORIGINAL BUILD/UPGRADE

IMG_0922.jpg
What I was starting with

IMG_0924.jpg
Fan controller Arrived first so I threw that in first

After buying it I realized what it would do to my cable management...more wires!!!!!! AHHHH

IMG_0947.jpg

IMG_0959.jpg
I thoroughly love the way it looks in the NZXT case with piano black front

IMG_0963.jpg
Then the box of sheer joy came in from the egg!

IMG_0975.jpg
I always have the loved the Asus blue on their mobos

IMG_0983.jpg
Then my birthday present from my best friend came in!

IMG_0986.jpg
This is the biggest cooler I have ever had and was in complete shock at the size and knew this would be good for some serious OCing I had planned

IMG_0997.jpg
Preping for the massive rebuild by uninstalling all the old Mobo drivers and thing to reinstall with the new ones...including my 5770 driver because it needed to be updated which i hadn't done in awhile...seemed like good timing to do so

IMG_0999.jpg
Strangely satisfying to install the quad core that will replace my dual core cool.gif

IMG_1004.jpg
CPU cooler with the CM Sickleflows on....Beast ofa' thing!

IMG_1007.jpg
Motherboard isolated and everything is disconnected from it

IMG_1008.jpg
BEFORE

IMG_1011.jpg
AFTER

IMG_1017.jpg
Everything isnt really clean but its all buttoned up together and ready to run

IMG_1020.jpg
Had to install that Phenom II sticker of course...I always was missing a processor sticker

IMG_1021.jpg
Booted up and running like a champ...Ready for OCing after the thermal paste cured

That my build and I ended up getting to 4.32Ghz which it is currently running at and folding at with SMP and GPU client for my 5770

I love Project noVaKan3 and future plans to it include

Another 4GB of RAM
Another 5770 into Crossfire
Better PSU - probably a Corsair of some sort around 800+ watts
OCZ SSD with sandforce chipset or better depending on when I get it
and more HDDs in RAID
and MMMAAYYBBEE watercooling loop but I doubt it...I am doing allright on air for now

IMG_0996.jpg
Oh yeah...bigger monitors...and bigger desk...rolleyes.gif

I love the TEMPEST EVO. My dream case at one point in time. They're so cheap at $90 shipped on Newegg now and I recommend it over the HAFs and all other high end cases.
See if you can switch that rear fan to intake from exhaust... might improve your temps. I use the exact same airflow setup with my dark knight & case and I keep within 55C on a 4Ghz 1055T with 1.472V.

Thanks for the tip, I'll give it a shot. Eventually I want to put my H50 on this build to see if my air setup or that H50 performs better on my 955

Very good job getting your 955 up to 4.3 ghz I would sure like to see some pictures of your bios setting - Some pictures of your motherboard settings and your voltage settings and your memory settings.

Thanks

On my older board i had a hard time getting my 955 up to 4 ghz the tempreature would easily go over 60 C under a load.

Okay Guys, I have added crossfire to my rig, and I took some pictures after some cable management work.

Now I have 5770+5750 in crossfire and I underestimated the power boost!

Here are some pictures with everything off

Worked on cable management as much as possible, its incredibly hard with 2 power supplies but I got it to work

MSI and XFX 57** GPUs (5750 with Zalman cooler on bottom)

I also mounted the SSD on the side of my case to be seen

Next addition to the rig will be a modded Corsair H50, I plan to install a res on it and go water cooling.

definitely a nice build and upgrade! And impressive on the 4.3Ghz OC! I have the same mobo and cpu.....makes me wonder with a possible upgrade to a cpu with P&P 120mm fans instead of 92mm how far I can take my 955.

Actually, I got the 5750 (on bottom) from a friend and I haven't changed the cooler at all on my 5770 (on top)

He switched out the cooler on that card, and used some of those little heatsinks on it, and yes, I wish I had some more, they help ALOT!!
