Max OC on 500 watts?

What should my max OC speed for Graphics Core speed only, be?

I can over clock my cards core clock speeds to 740Mhz max . If i go any higher like 760Mhz the screen flashes for a moment and then says the display driver has recovered.
And continues this if I don't change the speed back down to 740. So what should my max speed be? Im useing a Corsair 500 watt with 36amp 12v+ rails.

My graphics card is EVGA geforce gts 250 (1)Gb. Im useing the EVGA drivers and precision tool to OC the card.
My system alone uses about 130 watts and the card (when under load) consumes about 190 - 200 watts when under load. I have more then enough power left over to Over clock this card to about 780Mhz so why can't I? The 36amp rail should be enough power flow for the card.

Ive checked for over heating and the card always stays at about 40 - 50c so no problems there :3

I can OC at 750Hhz and it will be stable but when In a game its no longer stable and I have to revert back to 740Mhz.
Like I said the display driver stops responding and then it recovers back, I never have any artifacts what so ever; its either perfectly fine or a non-responsive driver.

I feel this is mostly software related then it is hardware, but I can be wrong; so would 740Hmz be the max core speed for this card on a 500 watts power supply?

Checking your System sig,a decent 500 watt PSU is fine for a max OC gts 250. Sounds like your hitting the upper limit of your GPU more than anything.

Ive never bumped gpu voltage in bios, I know msi afterburner will do it. I don't know if the utility you are currently using will increase voltage.

Riva tuner should also work

the 2xx series cannot increase voltage manually unless specifically added by the vendor. They can automatically throttle back the clocks and voltages to reduce power, but its only the 400 and 500 series of nvidia cards which actually gives the users the ability to over-volt the card.

Edit: Durr some manufacturers did add software voltage adjustment

Found that it takes a hardware mod or volt tuner to increase the Voltage to my GPU.

Says here.
