Random RAM question

Thread Starter
I have been reading around on here and it seems everyone is saying the RAM should be running at 1.6v. Am I doing something wrong running my ripjaws at stock voltages? also is my 1600MHz kit supposed to be running at 1066MHz? I have never been able to understand RAM and its ins and outs.

well ram voltages differs from platform platform.
you can bump your ram to 1600 mhz in bios and put the voltage its tested and certifed in bios

What voltage should I be running on this system?

RAM comes with a default 'safe' speed that should work. Once your system can boot, go into the BIOS and you can change the ram timings and voltage to the specs they give you.

9-9-9-24-2N @1600Mhz with 1.5v is what Gskill rates it. If it's the red ones, the blue ones are different. Need a link to the ones you bought or something.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...ipjaws&x=0&y=0

It says timings and voltage on the Newegg info for each kit...
