1gb 6950 with custom coolers out... - Page 3

*facepalm*
Think I didn't explain the thing well : 1gb got custom coolers, 2gb are still stuck on the reference cooler. 1gb released about 1-2 weeks ago, 2gb around a whole month if not more. That's what I'm talking about. I am waiting since the release for a non-ref cooled 6950 2GB, I feel like ATI is trolling me...

Lol, come on man, I know you love ATI more then life itself but do you have to try and bash Nvidia in every thread? Read some more reviews there cowboy, and you'll see that the 560 can over clock to beat the 6950, even when the 6950 1GB is over clocked. This is OVERCLOCK.NET right? I have to come in every thread where there are fanboys running rampant and state this, Fermi when over clocked has ridiculously good results.

Well, after having to examine the pictures to figure if it was 1GB or 2, the Twinfrozr card is a 2GB. Still... 1 of the 2GB is finnally out when the 1GB got a custom cooler almost right after launch. Doesn't we usually have to wait a whole month before they get in production?

Dont get why they made 1gb versions .
To create competition for the GTX 560. Don't think it'll do much as a 1GB 560 comes fairly close to a 2GB 6950 anyway. A 1GB 6950 would probably fall behind the Nvidia counterpart. Then again, this is just an assumption. I'm torn between the 6950 and a 560. Dunno which one to get...

560 if you like to over clock, check out this review, specifically the overclocked results. Keep in mind this is no voltage tweaking.

99% of all people, maybe. But lots of people do like to game at high resolutions/multiple screens and the 2GB makes a big difference there. That's where the 6970 really pulls away from the 570.

And honestly, someone buying a 6950 probably is buying it for gaming at high res, not just so FireFox can look good.

I am an AMD fan boy, but tomorrow I am buying a 560. The reason being if you OC a 560 and a 6950 1/2gb, the 560 will win.

This man speaks the truth, exactly what I said in my last post, I'd grab a 560 Gigabyte SoC myself if Kepler wasn't so close. If Kepler isn't hitting 1GHZ I'll be a little angry haha.

Agreed , 6950 has the advantage over the 560 purely because you can unlock the shaders , overclock it and theres your 6970 . They both will have similar performance though i reckon the 6950 will pull out ontop even unflashed .. 570 has more of a chance .

Im talkin 2gb not 1gb , 1gb version maybe different .. I think they made the 1gb version to compete with the 460 so u may be right .

560 is just , meh .. If ur were an ati fanboy u wouldnt go buy a 560
