Awesome GTA IV performance!

Thread Starter
I am very impressed at how smoothly GTA IV runs on my system. I have patch 1.0.7.0 installed, with GfWL and RGSC all running. I have the 10.10e drivers for my HD5850. It runs even better than it did with patch 1.0.4.0. It really is a joy to play this game, it feels like a different game!

What do you get with anisotropic filtering turned to 16x?
High levels of AF make a large difference in image quality.

Real world is less.

On my x3 @ 3.3 and a gtx 480, I usually get 30-40, which is fine. Some minor drops and ad View Distance of like 35 I think

Real world, measured with Fraps, I usually get a constant 55-60fps with the occasional drop to 30fps.

I haven't tried AF 16x. These are actually the default settings that are selected when starting the game.

I am really happy with how it looks, apart from the jagged lines due to no AA.

I don't own the game but I here it is a CPU hog, if that is true then monitoring with Fraps will have a negative impact as Fraps it's self is a CPU hog

mine runs 60-75 average and drops to 40 sometimes, all max settings with vsync on @ 75hz.
i think im might disable HT and try to play it at 4.4ghz just to see what would happen.

FRAPS recording is, not fraps monitoring

This game needs 2GB VRAM otherwise viewing distance will be crap. I wanna see someone run this with i7 2600K OC with dual 580's.

I get 30-50 usually with everything maxed on my sig rig. Looks great but some AA wouldn't go amiss.
