Prime 95 question

i had my PII 965 BE at 4.0GHz easy but whenever i run prime the 4th core goes to 0% usage after like 30 min of running while the others are at 100%

why would prime do this
not enough wattage

and the cpu is C3

probaby 4th core failing test

look at prime95 window, it probaby found an error and stopped worker thats stressinsg 4th core, worker 3 thats is usually.

Yes, not enough wattage.
Not only is running an overclocked 125W CPU on 3+1 phase power extremely dangerous (should fail within minutes if heavily overclocked!), it's probably not providing stable enough power due to being stressed way past the limits. Less power phase = less stable power because each phase has to supply more power, which additionally runs hotter and in more danger of blowing up. A 125W-140W processor can easily turn to 200W when overclocked. When processors are rated for running on certain power phases, they are always tested at stock speed and with the stock cooler. Above that and you're on your own.

Most of the times with Prime, if any worker fails, you have to check your cpu/nb or ram.
If it is a cpu problem, you will get a BSOD
