i5 2500K Stock Cooler

Thread Starter
I just installed my new system today with my 2500K and the Intel Stock CPU Cooler is absurdly loud. I can actually hear it above my tv and everything else. The case fans and GPU cooler are absolutely silent, but the cooler is extremely loud and annoying.

Is anyone else using this cooler that can compare your experience to mine? The AMD Cooler I had on my 1090T was completely silent so I can't imagine Intel purposely making a cooler that makes so much noise. I turned on the Smart Fan feature in the BIOS and enabled Quiet Mode which definitely helped but it's still quite noticeable and displeasing.

Thanks for the help!

Stock coolers are usually quiet, this is strange.

Obviously, I would if I could afford to right now. I will be getting an H50 or H70 when I get some extra cash....Otherwise, I wouldn't be concerned about this one for now. wink.gif

I did this already. It is on Quiet Mode which means it runs as low as possible while not under stress.

Well the H70 will be noisier than the stock cooler.

Here is a video of the Cooler in "Quiet Mode". Before I enabled Smart Fan, it was probably 3 or 4 times louder.
