have a i7-950 stock heatsink. on a sabertooth asus mobo. with 4gb of kingston 1800mhz ram. and with all that i have a 4890 that with stock voltage i cant boost past 9 percent. [925 mhz core clock, 1065 mhz mem]
I hear all this talk about outrageous boost in OC with this card. and I have all the other amazing parts (Ram, Proc, Mobo) to compliment but thats all I can pull out with a stock voltage is 9 percent. Should I raise my voltage.? and how? is there a better volt mod than others. I dont want to ruin my card. Id wrather just keep it at 9 percent if its a bigger risk. than just proper OC without Voltage Boost. Did i get a BAD card? please fill me in Im new to this forum hopefully posted in the right area. my power supply is a GS 800 corsair

thanks for the fast reply. so upping voltage to 1.4 which doesnt seem much from stock 1.31.. to get 1gig core clock seems worth it no?

Video cards like lower temps rather than higher volts. If the card has a load temp that's higher than 65*C, which is obvious for the 4890, then it's going to be limited to the overclock that it can achieve.
