Overclock doesn't apply in Windows (Need Serious Help!)

Thread Starter
Hello,
Im a new user to this but i do know alot about computers etc..

I upgraded my power supply today as my previous one was faulty (no name brand psu) and now i've got a Xfx 650w XXX edition psu.
After installing it, everything went fine.
But i went to use my overclock and it didnt work, It Blue screened the first time!

So i turned it off and tried some other settings but now its just being strange...
Basically, it shows the overclock in the bios but when i boot into windows its running at stock speeds (and stock FSB etc - Checked with CPU-Z)

I have tried EVERYTHING!
Cleared CMOS every way possible, Reinstalled bios, Downgraded bios to previous, restored windows 7 to previous state, and i also tried the AI overclock presets, But even they dont show up in windows!!

Please, please help me, As this is driving me mad!!

Thanks!!
-Darian

I cant up the multiplier as its already at 9 (which is full)
I am just trying to overclock the cpu any way possible, but the problem is that it doesnt seem to run at my overclocked speed in Windows...
But it does show it in the bios and does save it after reboots etc..
Thanks for the quick responce btw

are you trying to go straight to 3.6ghz or are you trying to go by small increments. You might be having trouble with the overclock so it resets before booting.

Try going slow with it, try like 3.1ghz first and see if that will apply.

how bout a moderate overclock? like 3.2GHz, does that boot and show up in windows?

Okay i changed the FSB from 1333 to 1400 giving it a .15ghz overclock
Meaning 3.15ghz is the speed its running at - Bios confirms that, Windows boots fine but still says im running stock speeds and 333 FSB ..

Are you using windows to read your speed or cpu-z? Try cpu-z and see what you get.
