Portable USB Speaker for Desk

Thread Starter
I have these cheap Logitech S120 speakers just for the occasional situation when I feel like sitting on my couch lazily to watch videos. Since these speakers are too bulky and are not so good anyway, I'm looking to replace them with a more compact alternative, not necessarily better in quality. So here I am, hoping that you can help find me some really simple portable speakers that do the job.

Budget? I'm really not willing to spend any more than $40-$50 for it. I would prefer the speakers to be USB, portable, one piece, not have a separate power cord, and not required to run off batteries or a charge. It also has to be loud and bright enough to be heard from my couch. The distance between the couch and my desk is shown below.

I was looking at [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Satechi-X-Mini-II-Capsule-Speaker/dp/B001UEBN42"]this[/ame] but it requires a 3.5mm jack and uses a battery. Though I do have a USB-to-3.5mm adapter, I would rather not use it.

Thanks in advance for the responses, +rep for the recommendation that fits the best.

Notes: I do own an ASUS Xonar STX, where I have my ATH-AD700 plugged in full time. This is my main source of audio, not the speakers. The speakers are only for occasional use, specifically when I'm ready to fall sleep.

Granted these aren't great speakers. They run off USB power, No battery, No power cord..
Got them at Walmart for $15

They don't sound bad IMO, No real bass response. But they let me watch TV on my PC now smile.gif
