New build Advice

Thread Starter
okay so this is a build for my friend and has a strict budget of 500 bucks (for good gaming and editing) so this is what i have so far

GPU
case
processor
ram
psu and hdd combo

so basically what need now is a mother board to fit all of this nice and good, the total cost is 435 so about an 80 motherboard (am3 and dual channel 1600 ram) should be fine, does anyone have any good suggestions; i prefer boxed mobos

I recommend these parts over those:
Kingston HyperX Blu 1600 CL9 - $50, $40 AR
NZXT M59 case - $50 shipped
Gigabyte GTS 450 + Antec NEO ECO 520W - $170, $145 AR
Samsung F3 1TB - $60 shipped
Total cost of your build: $442, $407 AR
Total cost of my build: $430, $405 AR

Also I'm really sorry to say this saw4974 but I rather dislike your suggestion. 1. Overpriced generic memory 2. Ripoff hard drive (you can get F3 1TB for that price - twice the space and performs better too i believe) 3. For the same $90 you could choose a much better case/power supply (i.e. HEC Blitz + Antec NEO ECO 520W)

how about these :
Case 40$ after promo code
Memory 40$ AR
PSU 35$ after promo code + MIR
Mobo 70$ AR
Video Card 100$ AR
CPU 125$
HDD 60$
DVD|RW 16$

total 486$

The NEO ECO 520C + GTS 450 deal costs much less and will perform about the same, I still highly recommend it. Also consider the HyperX we suggested, if that MIR goes through for $10 less you have a memory kit that overclocks just as decently, maybe better, than the Ripjaws.

Don't expect overclocking on that motherboard also. 3+1 power phase is fine for a 95W processor... at stock. Double up with the fact that it's an MSI power phase and it wouldn't be optimal. You could pay less for a board with a 4+1 and a similar or better chipset. The pricing on that board ($80 shipped) is extremely, extremely poor anyway, for the same price [after rebate] you could get an M4A79XTD EVO or get an open box board that is much better.

yes i was wondering about the ocing for mobo, and thanks for that clear up definatley readjusting it same goes with the hyperX, the only reason i kept it was because he said he wanted the ripjaws but i shall convince him other wise; for the gpu i did look at some benchmarks and for most cases the 5770 out preformed the gts by a couple points i mean in the long run if i oc both to max (with two 20" running at 1920x1280 each)will the gts out preform???
