So they are issuing me a full refund for the motherboard (no restocking fee and free shipping label). Hopefully my next one will be new

After seeing how they took care of the situation so quickly, I will always buy from Newegg.
Dude, that's what they're supposed to do. It's good that they're doing it, but it's not like it's any favor to you. They wasted your time you know.

Hmm... Glad they took care of it, but...

Is newegg trying to sell used/refurb inventory for retail prices? Makes me wonder...

This is why I don't buy from Newegg... sure... 90%+ of the time there's no problems... but there's often an issue.

I'm lucky enough to live in the greater Vancouver area so I can visit a ton of different NCIX locations. I buy in person so if there's a problem, I know while I'm still in the store where I just immediately bought the product.

This is really an issue with every place I've been to lately... Futureshop... etc. I purchased z-2300 speakers a couple years back, and I brought them home... coffee stain on the manual inside. Wonder how that could've happened? A factory worker must've spilled his coffee while reading the manual right? Lol.

It's annoying for sure... these companies get big on their good reputation and great return policies... yet there's so few open box sales... the massive number of returned products have to go somewhere. Of course a lot of these companies have technicalities saying "a returned product is considered unused and therefor new"... which is totally untrue.

Hah, if they honor that request, then you'd really have a reason to always buy from Newegg.

I'm glad you got that straighted out. $hit happens. I buy almost all my computer stuff from Newegg, and when you consider the volume of products and number of workers and vendors, handlers and shippers, it's impossible for $hit NOT to happen! The main thing is they are doing a fantastic job of trying to keep problems to a minimum and when it does happen they do their best to fix it. You also need to be aware of the fact that this world is full of scumbags, and Newegg, like most companies today, need to have polices in place to weed out the slimeballs, scumbags, and thieves that live just to screw anybody they can. So the fact that Newegg took care of the "mix up" with as little fuss as they did, just reinforces my opinion of what a great company Newegg really is! (And no, I don't work for Newegg. LOL)
Makes me happy!

I've only had a couple issues with Newegg, but their customer support is some of the best out there. They always pay for return shipping and usually give up to $15 credit if they messed up. Plus you get to chat with a rep in a very short time unlike some other sites that reply a day later.
