OK, I got ya. That card was out my previous system, i replaced everything but HDD and graphics. I'm getting my 3tb SATA3 HDD next week and I might replace the graphics now too by the sound of it. Any other reccomendations for a good card? And what is with people running dual graphics cards? What does that achieve??

1. If you plan to boot from a 3TB drive, it wont work with that board.

2. To recommend a GPU, we need a budget

3. dual GPUs work together, and give about a 80-90%(depending on the card) performance increase over a single card

gt 240 is a low end gfx card , wont be much use in todays games at high res .. Good for a physx card

1. Why won't it boot off my 3tb with this board?

2. Budget about $250 wholesale price (Around $350-$400 RRP)

Thanks.

1. to boot off anything higher than 2.24TB, you need:

a. GPT partition (you can do this)
b. windows 7 64 bit (you have this)
c. UEFI bios ( your board does not have this)

you can still boot of the 2TB drive, then use the 3TB for storage.

2. Not sure what prices are like in AU (or what RRP is for that matter), but the Radeon 6870/6850, or Geforce GTX460/560 should be in that price range

So for best performance I want to boot from it correct?? Can I update BIOS? Or can you get a 2tb SATA3 HDD?

You must be kidding me. lol

@OP
Like the others have said it really depends on what you do with it. Its definitely not meant for gaming. Its performance isn't even close to an 8800 at stock.

I would just boot from the 2TB drive, and then use the 3TB one as a secondary drive.

Performance will be about the same.

No you cannot update bios to support it.
