Need advice on i5-2500k build - Page 2

Yes, if you follow the link you posted the last pic shows everything it comes with, the 212 comes with everything you will need.

I'm not sure how the thermal compound stacks up against other ones. It might be worth spending another 7-9$ on some artic silver 5.

That power supply will do the job I would go modular and get a samsung or plextor DVD drive. For thermal compound get some ic diamond.

^^^exactly
a couple of phillips screwdrivers in various size. If you have some extra tools, like needle nose pliers maybe a pocket knife.
Only tips for actually building would be to set aside at least 8 hours ( open boxes to installing OS ). First time is going to be slow. Do it on a table avoid the carpet, avoid anything that will build static electricity up around the main components. Don't rush and make sure to check youtube or on here for guides on how to build a PC. That's how I did it. Was rather easy, but took time.

Another option could be to grab one of the gazillion 1366 and 1156 systems that are up for sale and use the heck out of it until all the kinks are worked out with SB. Just grab all of the items on your lost save for the MB/CPU and you'll be good to go.

This is really good advice, you can get someone's proven(or not proven) 9xx series chip for a song these days that will give you ~ the same real world performance. Take a look at the marketplace here and see what is out there but just in the past few days I have seen some great OC'ing chips up for sale.
