Yet another GTA IV Thread...EFLC Question

Hello everybody! Im new here, and yes I know there have been a gazillion threads on GTA IV and the likes, but I thought I would be the bad person here and start ANOTHER thread!

Soo.... I am currently waiting for TDU 2 (CAN'T WAIT), and the release of DiRT 3 and I am also looking forward to playing Just Cause 2 in the future. The current game I am now playing is TBoGT and I have been having some awful graphics experiences. I was running a 8500GT on low at 30 fps, and I just got a GTX460 768 card (I know...not the best) and On medium I get maybe 25 fps. Now im no expert, but shouldn't I be able to run it on high settings?

Also, my shadows are all pixellated, and until recently, my water was jello and the sun reflected as shooting all over the water. (Since been fixed - most likely a driver issue). Even with view distances on 75, it takes near minutes for the bohan and alderny to load when in chopper or on top of rotterdam tower. Sometimes, complete buildings dont load, and only their lights render. Not the kind of performance you would expect from this card.

I have done many texture mods, reinstalls, new drivers, commandline.txt files, etc. but no luck. EFLC runs on the GTA 4 platform, which came out in 2008. Now, if my PC can't run a 2008 game, and it is 2011, and here i am wanting to play 2011 games, what's going to happen?

MY SPECS:

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz OC@ 3.6GHz E0 stepping
GALAXY GTX460 768
ULTRA LSP650 PSU
Cooler Master Hyper 212+ with 2 fans
ASUS P5W DH Motherboard
1GB Corsair XMS2 RAM
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

I know my GFX card manufacturer is ****. As you can tell, this is a budget gaming pc. I was thinking it might have been my RAM, either I don't have enough, or it's bottle necking like a *****. Either way, my PC is slow as **** when gaming. I also have a 2gb flashdrive on readyboost, and that kind of helps with bootup. I do plan on getting more RAM by summer.

Your CPU is a bit lacking, sorry to say. Definitely a bottleneck, especially for GTA4 which is quite CPU intensive, and being poorly coded doesn't help.

GTA IV, just another bad console port. Don't know what anyone can tell you really other then that. 1gb of ram is probably not the best for the game though.

what happens when you click the 'recommended settings'

also what resolution are you trying to play at?

No, I was using 1.35v for this clock. I sold my stuff though, waiting for my new parts.

The E8400 will do, but at medium settings.

Push it to at least 3.8 and you can play at at higher settings.

But it will do.
4-year build.

I think its time for more ram.

an e8400, gtx 460, and 4gbs of DDR2 will play GTA IV at the resolution easily.
