Newb Watercooling

Thread Starter
Hi ive got my taxes back and some other money for doing good in school
Im debating on doing watercooling to my cpu and video card or selling my gtx 470 for 150 and buying a 6970 or two 6850s and selling my monitor to get a 1080p one im having trouble deciding what would be the best way to spend my money
I want a ssd and to get two more sticks of ram also
i have around 1200 bucks and want to know if you guys think that the water cooling setup ive included with be worth it or buying two ati cards and buying a noctura air cooler for my cpu would be a better option
Thanks in advance
Ryan

frozen-cpu marks-up the D5 pump really high, its cheaper on performance-pcs or jab-tech (or really most other places).

Missing: tube, fittings, fans, & silver or biocide. for a custom loop, your looking about $300-500 for a cpu and gpu.

Get this kit and that EK GTX 470 GPU Block and save yourself a lot of money.

Sell the 470 and buy 2 6950s. The 6950s can be unlocked to 6970s as they are the identical card.

u should switch the pump to mcp355, for cpu+gpu set ups i think its best has more overhead, als if u want to save money, get a XSPC kit for 169$ plus 110$ for gpu block, all together 300$ after taxes, maybe get a second gtx 470 after lol

For some reason my phone like to send post before im done...

There are many possibilities here as to what you can do with your money, essentially you can do everything you want on 1200, but you may be sacrificing quality on some levels.

You can get the RX360 kit and 2 6970 waterblocks for about 400$. 2 6950s would run you 600$ then the SSD and memory, you can get some smaller sized SSDs for around 130$ such as the Crucial C300 64gb wich is awesome, and then whatever memory you need, but memory cheap anyways. and you would still be under or right at 1200$

yea im just debating on whether water cooling a 470 is even worth it vs a new 6970 or 6950 the only thing about 6950s is correct me if im wrong you can overclock them because they dont have enough input power
