Chipset Update - P55 - Windows 7 Home Premium x64

Thread Starter
Hello I have this weird problem. I cant seem to update my chipset. No method like Vista SP2 and -overall parameters seem to work (well worked once but it only updated SATA drivers)

I got Driver Genius program that downloads the latest chipset drivers, I try them from Station Drivers Website and Intel Download Center and nothing seems to update. I tried the manual update but system says my drivers are up to date even if they are not.

Any ideas ?

Why worry about it, it sounds like the drivers for your exact board are already up to date, and perhaps the drivers you were trying to download were not for your board.

Check asus' site and download the chipset drivers from there, not from intel.

I believe your over thinking on this one.
Open up device manager. If you do not see any yellow, or red symbols in your list your all set.

I also try to stay away from those driver programs. Most of them were scams from what I've seen.

My motherboard is ASUS P7P55D-E PRO. And chipset for that motherboard is called Ibex Peek P55 or simly P55.

My drivers are dated 2009 ._. We have 2011 so there must be an update...

Updating the chipset drivers is a chance that can make my system more responsible and in some cases even increase FPS in games. Thats what Ive read somewhere dont remember where.

I recently updated my BIOS (today) with ASUS latest one thinking it will solve this update problem - it didnt, but thats not the only reason I updated. I had some problems when computer went to sleep and sometimes it didnt come back from that sleep plus this update had really interesting features.

Im considering a new OS installation (Windows 7 Ultimate x64) since I got Windows 7 Home Premium x64. Any chance this will solve this matter ? I really wanna stay up to date with the chipset...

Intel latest WHQL version is: 9.2.0.1021
My current is: 9.1.1.1022

So my current aint the latest one :/

When you update the chipset drivers on the board, not sure it will include all drivers. Did you check to see if any drivers reported the newer version?

Again pretty sure your over thinking it. Apply all the latest from there site.
The sleep issue could come from other applications. For example leaving a video open in a player full screen will take out my sleep function. Sometimes a reboot is all you need to get it to function correct again.

Then how would you explain some components being partialy updated like SATA drivers ?

I checked ASUS site for my motherboard and what is ther is: 9.1.1.1020 wich is dated 2009/11/04.

When I check the properties of some components they indeed have 9.1.1.1020 version but some got 9.1.1.1022.

First (9.1.1.1020) is Intel(R) 5 Series/3400 Series Chipset Family USB Enhanced Host Controller - 3B34

Second (9.1.1.1022) is Intel(R) 5 Series/3400 Series Chipset Family PCI Express Root Port 5 - 3B4A

Those are some random examples I just picked by opening device manage. Shouldnt they be the same version ?

/////edit:

Think I got this figured. I went fishing inside the ini files of those latest driver sets - picked names like ibex and bullseye. There were those things that was similar but the dates inside the driver was like the dates I got already so I guess its either updated or there is no newer version and that whole thing with whole set named like 9.2.0.1021 is a lie with single drivers. The pack as a pack might be this version but drivers arent. Wich is... Weird. But anyways it seem up to date. Correct me if Im wrong.

No it seems like you got it all figured out.
It updates whichever drivers it can to the latest, through installer.
I run the same P55 chipset. I've got older chipset versions.

Sleep, screen saver, turn off monitor all work good for me.
