Overclock 1090t

Thread Starter
OK, so I thought I had this sorted. I overclocked my CPU to 4ghz and everything was fine I thought but now PC keeps rebooting automatically. I used to get BSOD but I upped the voltage to 1.475 and that stopped it, now just rebooting. Do I need to up it more? Also, when I change the nb clock at all my MB just reverts everything back to default (clock, multiplier etc). Any ideas?

If it is stable I would leave it alone Maybe someone else can help with the nb problem, I've never experienced that one.

Here's where I'm at. I disabled automatic restart on system failure and now I get a blue screen, it just runs longer before I get it now since I upped the voltage. Voltage is now at 1.5, can I up it more safely? Or is there something else I should be changing? All I have touched so far is the multiplier and vcore voltage. Is there something else I should alter so the system keeps up with these changes?

There are quite a few people with this CPU over 4ghz claiming it as stable. Could my PSU be too small for my system?

yes,and check your temps,i am not overly confident about your cooler being able to do the buisness....
reduce your voltages too, lower the better for chip life, not below stock tho

Wow 1.5v on an air cooler I bet you are hitting the 57-65c with that I would get a 3.6 OC and get another cooler after that to push it with the Vcore .

Seems ok at 3.6 with stock voltage. What do I need to do to get it further? Or is my CPU just not capable? And yes my temp was pushing 60c before I put the voltage back. Could it have been heat?
