im no expert but id say your issues are heat related i have a 1090t at 4.2 and it runs like a dream at 35- 37 deg idle and 53 max with prime 95 on good water cooling

I think something is wrong with your setup. I have identical temps with the NH-D14...

OP: Try increasing your NB and HT Link too...

I have ordered the heatsink. Is there any other cooling I would benefit from when overclocking?

Of course there are But if you can get your cpu temps under control with a good w/c setup you'll be satisfied for awhile at least. Hopefully you wont get the bug too bad because there are endless ways to spend your paycheck making things run faster. colder = higher clocks = $$$$$$

they will run slightly hotter due to your non stock cooler, the stock cooler diverts air from the cpu fan across them which your rev2 does not..
all i can say is,plenty of case fans, keep your ambient as low as you can.
with AMD cool>voltage

Hey OP we should talk volts and speeds we have the same mobo and cpu. not sure why you are having problems my OC was easy. I didnt know much but I just changed the multiplier to x20 and the voltage to 1.42 then... voila 4Ghz. The problem i'm having now is trying to get the NB up. I don't understand what sort of voltage range i should try and the difference between the names and such.
