Thats exactly the point. Most of these kind of Pc's dont even have hard drives. They run 100% of the gigabit network.
you do realize you can share media with another computer really easily on linux. I'm not sure about the status of HD video as of yet, but you can play DVD quality no problem

and it's not like it'll play hd video on windows 7 either with a 1.6GHz cpu

More like it's useful for anything except gaming and HPC (High performance computing, supercomputer stuff.)

This would be an awesome torrent box...and probably could handle running a small murmur server.

I dont think so

Using a C-50 APU( which is weaker than a E-350)
I can do basic multitasking and pay 1080p Videos smoothly.

Windows 8 + Internet Based Services (Programs) + Browser Games + Movies Online + UTube + Many Other things which are more or less what is being fed to the masses.

It's been said we are going back to the Server / Client platform, and while many businesses may have remained that way, a cheap small little client box like this is perfect for reducing cost for small businesses not wanting to invest a lot for client's desktops.

Web & Office Software = Business Getting Done, no games, no frills, just do your work!

I can see these used over WANs & Remote Connections, definitely...

I like small form factor for the office, it keeps things tidy indeed!

Wifi Keyboard & Mouse means only 3 wires more or less, video, 2 power, and use a wireless N USB Adapter to connect to the Wifi Network. (some places don't use wifi though, but it sure beats all those wires, meh!)

I like it!

=====================================

The Solar Panel idea was awesome, agreed!

A Solar Panel Operated Computer OMW!

If you had an Embedded OS in this thing it would be awesome!

I know my middle name, I know how to remove a shimano outboard bearing bottom bracket and I know where I keep the beer in my house.

So, in a nutshell, yes.
