So....i couldn't wait any longer, i ordered my new SB rig today, but i am torn between what monitor is best to get for the gaming rig, i am looking for opinions on what brand would be best!

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001392

or

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236103

Or another brand if you have any good feedback though i can't see an Acer beating out either of these brands.

With that kind of budget towards a monitor, you should be going with a 1920x1200 one. Such as:

I had the samsung P2770HD and it was amazing. Only reason I just took it back was to go larger to my 32 HDTV Samsung!

The Asus is 2ms 85Hz. Samsung is 5ms 60Hz. I'd get the Asus. I've got the Samsung 2443BW+ which was suggested above, great screen but it's not 27" 2ms 85Hz. It's 24" 5ms 60HZ so not quite as good.

Normaly I would get the Samsung buy you picked a pretty crappy one there, also why do you need a 27 inch monitor? Thats huge considering your going to be right infront of it when your gaming.

You would be better off getting a Samsung XL2370 23 inch monitor.

heh you're about the only one to say the Asus, makes me wonder why the others didn't.

Mostly because i can get dual monitors or 1 large monitor, i have a max of 500$ for the monitor(s), i figured since it's a gaming rig i might as well get 1 large monitor.

I would always say asus. I turn everyone I can away from samsung. Every single samsung product I have had has died and their customer support is horrible, they are impossible to work with and DO NOT like to give refunds. Asus on the other hand are very solid and I plan to buy a monitor from them later in the year.

Viewsonic also has a 27" LED 1ms monitor as well.
