Alright everyone, I'm thinking seriously about upgrading my sig Rig.

Video card, PSU, maybe CPU.

Upgrading my PSU is a must. Video card or CPU, which one would be better?

Total Budget, 400$ (plus taxes and shipping, not to worry about that)

Will be buying from Newegg.ca (Canadian)

First Video Card:

Either I get another 5670 and Crossfire them. Or, i get another ATI card, preferably in the 6000 series. Basicly... best card for 200-230$.

Need to know what would be best.

Then, power supply. I want at least 700W, I just want to know what are the better PSUs. Quality Wise.

CPU is Socket 775. Not willing to upgrade motherboard yet. Quad-core core2duo. I checked, all compatible with my bored, as i have the latest bios update already.

i wouldn't upgrade the CPU unless you are going for a i5 or i7. so i would say a gfx card.

XFX HD-687A-ZNFC Radeon HD 6870 - $230

SeaSonic X750 Gold 750W - $170

A PSU and GPU will be the best upgrade for you -
Get one PSU from mushkin - for 75 or 100$ ( http://www.mushkin.com/$pecial.aspx )
and the rest you could put into a good GPU -

I would buy the best processor I could for socket 775 which would be something like this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115210

Then I'd wait on everything else. If you wait you end up getting the stuff you really wanted in the first place. If you spend all the money you have now on CPU/PSU/GPU you will have a machine that you might not be happy with in 6 months. Next would be GPU, then the PSU. Your PSU is plenty for what you want to do. It should be the last thing you upgrade until you do something like Crossfire a pair of 6870's. Seriously, if you get the best chip you can for that mobo and a mid-range vid card, like a 6850, 550w is enough.

I'm taking the PSU to put in a LAN server for at home. It's Pentium D 940, 2GB DDR2 and GeForce 8600GT. Mostly for Dedicated server on Battlefield Vietnam. As well as other older games.

EDIT: Hence why i need a new psu for my system.

If i go with this
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16814102909

Can i do Triple Monitor Eyefinity with the 2-DVI and 1 HDMI?

Also, i need to know the best quality PSU, 700W or Plus, for just about 100$

i saw in another thread some one recommending this over the corsair tx750

XFX Core Edition PRO750W

i would still recommend the one i posted earlier since its fully modeler and is very efficient.

also for GFX cards i would throw a possibility for a evga 470? they're around the same price as the 6870 and are a smidgen better. you could also fold with it.

Well i'm not looking to fold. Also, my past experience with Nvidia cards was horrible. I'll stick with ATI until they let me down lol. I'm sure it will happen eventually, but my last 4 upgrades with ATI have been fantastic.

Ok, so far, looks like I'm going to go with the 6000 series. Any Suggestions?

Remember, i want to spend about 200-250$ on the card. Thanks guys
