Yeah that's true.. It's just kind of disappointing that I can't get 4 cores out of it after I read about 10 reviews on Newegg of people using this exact same mobo and CPU and easily overclocking it to 3.6-4.2ghz quad... so it's a shame I can't get 4 cores..

It's really a great computer and pretty fast so I'm happy with it I'd just like to get more out of it if I can.

I guess I'll try to oc to 4.0ghz dual core or something...

But just to clarify, my CPU cannot unlock the 2 additional cores? Or would I just need to mess with bios/voltage or w/e to get them to work?

Also, @amd-dude, here are all my specs:

ASUS M4A88T-V EVO/USB3 Motherboard
AMD Phenom II x2 555 Callisto Black Edition
8GB DDR3 RAM Ripjaw Series
CoolerMaster Hyper 212+ CPU Cooler
Antec 650W PSU
WD 500GB HDD
Xigmatek Asgard Computer Case

Do you think I could maybe get to triple core 3.6ghz - 3.8ghz?

I'm not familiar with the ASUS bios but for my msi board all i have to do is set "unlock core" to on and enable ACC and set that to auto and all four cores are unlocked and then i just put my voltage to 1.55v and i start increasing the cpu multiplier till it became unstable which is 4.3ghz.

If you have the hyper 212+ with a second fan you can also try this cause even at those voltages my cpu does not pass 40c remember this is a 80watt processor it does not put out much heat...again my rule is lower power processor + big cooler =

That's a shame I kinda wanna try what amd-dude said just to see if I can get it to work - at least try to get 3 cores.

I have the hyper 212+ as well as my case fan but thats it.

So to just do 3 cores (guess my chip just isnt any good for the 4th), what do I need to do? If I use the core unlocker it automatically says 4 cores unlocked but really only unlocks 3. How can I get it so it doesn't attempt to unlock the 2 additional cores and just the 1?

Would I have to go into the bios and turn the 4th one off?

Hi,sorry about entering this post,but i have a question.My spec:
AMD Phenom II X2 555BE
Asus M4A88T-V EVO/USB3
Standard PSU by case
Cooler Master Hyper TX3
2GB 1333 DDR3 Kingston RAM
Standard ATX Case

my question, when i enable Core Unlocker for the first time,it display POST as X4 but when go to"Windows Is Loading",it reboot then post as X3 and fully stable.so the fouth core is not stable? I am using 4-pin power connector to my processor,so to get the fouth core stable,do i need to upgrade my PSU to a 8-pin power connector?(sorry for my bad english)
