Hi,

I recently purchased a GIGABYTE P67A-UD3 Motherboard..

After installing Windows 7 and running some programs internet stoped working..

The ethernet cable is connected but the lights are not blinking... The ethernet cable does work on my iMac so thats not the problem..

Please help me since im desperate for my new build to work!

thanks

Jm

hi,
Please be precise, and more info on your setup is needed.

Is the windows 7 a clean install, upgrade, or did u just do a mobo swap?

Did your ethernet connection work with windows7 before and just randomly go bad, or has it been undetected since installing windows 7?

What do you mean "The internet stoped working"? It is kind of a vauge problem, soooo I have alot of things you can try.

1.) Restart you router
2.) Try a system restore. If a update or driver caused your internet to stop working, this will fix it.
3.) Check to see if it is a driver problem. In device manager, is there any question marks, exclimation marks, unrecognized devices? (Also, make sure it is enabled in the device manager).
4.) Check the BIOS. You might of accidentally hit a setting that turned off your ethernet card.
5.) Maybe the lights are weird? See if the router can see your MAC address. See if you can ping the router.

like crimson tears was saying,

reboot, go into your bios, make sure networking is turned on

go into device manager and check if drivers are installed

try a system restore.

I once did a bios update/flash, and my motherboard went nuts. half the SATA ports didnt work, and i lost onboard audio.

Sometimes there are driver conflicts,.. Creative sound blaster is notorious for causing problems.

Your last resort could be to retry a clean install of windows. it sounds unlikely, but hardware does randomly go bad.

Install the LAN driver anyway. I hate boards like that.
