Odd wireless issue...

Thread Starter
I'm having issues connecting a laptop to wireless networks, here's the story:

So a friend brought over her laptop, and asked for it to be reformatted. I did so, and installed all the drivers. At my house, the wireless worked perfectly fine, but once I drove it back to her place, I couldn't connect to anything. Windows could find the network, (but even then, it would occasionally disappear an reappear), but could not connect to it.
The networks at my place an her's are both 802.11G, both Comcast. However, mine is with a Linksys router and her's a Comcast (Motorola).
This is on WinXP SP2
What could be causing this inability to connect? I have downloaded countless drivers but haven't found a soultion yet.
Thanks!

Yes, tried to reset the router.
All passwords have been triple checked. This wasn't an issue until the laptop was reformatted. =[

I remember that there were some wireless connectivity issues in SP2.

You can try this update... Update for Windows XP (KB917021)

But, ultimately, I would make sure that all of the available Windows updates have been installed. Then install SP3 via Windows Update, or download it here... Windows XP Service Pack 3

If the network key is set correctly. Then it's a configuration on the Motorola router that is not allowing it to connect. You said the laptop connects on your linksys on G. Also what is the laptop we are all assuming it's G, tho it could be B or N.
