Need help choosing a video card - Page 3

Why shouldn't you go SLI when initally buying your graphics card - DV9? I'm doing my first computer build and wanted to be able to play tri monitors plus use a 47 inch tv so I was going to go duel GTX580s. I would be afraid that if you got one GTX580 now then in a year when you want to buy another you wont be able to find an exact matching card if you go with EVGA, Asus, MSI or some other upgraded graphics card.

Rig in Sig. No Budget
Best single card solution is a GTX 580 period. Performance over price.

If money is tight then the second best single card solution is AMD 6970. Price vs Performance.

Since you said single card and not combination I'll stick to your original post question.

Though the AMD 6950 unlocks to AMD 6970 it doesn't over clock beyond that being already pushed that far. Though the AMD 6950 is a great over clock due to flash bios unlock the AMD 6970 clocks beyond the unlocked AMD 6950 for even better performance.

So as for best SINGLE card solution I reiterate GTX 580.
