SYSFAN AUXFAN questions please..

Hi,

The P5Q Pro board has 4 fan headers, 1x CPU, 1x PWR and 2 x CHA_FAN headers.

After 20 minutes of BlackOps, I could feel her heating up beside my leg and could hear that the case fans hadn't picked up speed (see capture below)..

My question is why would that be and in HWM, which reading relates to the CHA-FAN header, SYSFAN or AUXFAN (SYSFAN I guess)?

Where would the temp sensor for the chassis fan be on the board, below the CPU & CPU hence the low reading?

It felt like the case needed a bit of a blow out..

Thanks.

I think it might be throttling your fans based on ambient temps. Also, how was the case heating up so that you could feel it on your leg? was it that hot? what was running so hot?

But your fan question, besides the three already labeled I would use Speedfan to try and throttle them one by one to see which one changes, then label them as "front fan" "rad fan" etc.

Hi & thanks..

I'm not concerned about temperatures as such, I was more wondering why the chassis fans hadn't picked speed to help extract the obvious heat in the case from the cpu & gpu which made me wonder where the chassis header fan's temp sensor was and what the sysfan reading was seeing as there isn't a fan header for it...

May be I need to invest in a fan controller...

I was playing about with the 470 last night with Afterburner and saw some pretty 'good' temps and yet the chassis temp sensor didn't appear to rise at all.
