Can i install a psu in top of the casing instead of bottom

hello, the psu i have right now is installed in the top of my casing. i am thinking of buying a new corsair, antec psu, however the pics i saw of them all of them shows they are all bottom mounted. here's the question, can i install 500-600w corsair psu in top of my casing?

what case do you have? i mean, you CAN mount it there, but whether or not your cables will be long enough and/or look good will be a different story. there's not much of an advantage though to mounting of the PSU

Yes of course you can. You mount it where it fits into your case, top or bottom, if the fan/fans don't match an opening you can upend the psu too, the screws will still match. This is all part of the ATX standard (assuming your using atx).

EDIT: did you mean Corsair case or psu, or antec psu? Either way, you mount it where it fits.

Pics are not working for me, try filling out your system spec's in the control panel.

Having the sig rig specs makes helping you alot easier for us.

What makes you want to top mount the psu anyway? My first rig was with a case that only allowed top mounting and I hated it. I like it so much better on the bottom.

One more question. if i don't have an opening for fan in the top can i flip over the PSU so it faces the mobo. if I do this will there be any problem to the mobo, cpu or gpu( i'm thinking of buying one)?

You should be able to put it any way you want is as long as the cables reach, the psu can be mounted with the fan up or down as long as its not being blocked by anything which should not be able to happen anyway.

Good luck and pics are always welcomed!

i mean if i mount the psu top or bottom anywhere normally the psu fan faces the casing vent. now if i don't have a vent there and i turn it upside down and the fan blows hot air into cpu,gpu will there be a problem?

the PSU fan sucks air out of the case, not blowing it in. Any ATX spec PSU will fit in that case, and should be mounted with the fan pointing at the CPU.
