That sounds like a good idea. Is the paint glossy or matte?

Well, so much for that idea. I began modding this old beat up old case in the hopes of making it better than what it was, and in the process turned it into an even uglier and more beat up looking piece of junk. The interior came out looking good with the black paint and new cable management holes, but the rest was horrible. The red Fusion plastic paint I used was a crappy color for a computer case and ended up dripping in like 5 spots, even with the lightest coat of paint I have ever laid down. If it wasn't fit to be in my living room before, then it certainly wasn't going to be welcome now.

I ended up just tossing the whole thing in the trash and ordering myself a Cooler Master Storm Scout from Newegg. I had a good run with the 900. It had seen 3 different full systems come and go.

Now I can't wait for my new case to arrive. I have done a customer's build using a Storm Scout before so I know what I am getting into. I promise I won't destroy this one by trying to mod it.

Thanks for the sympathy. At least I still have the red CM fans I bought for it and all the sleeved cables so they won't go to waste.

Yeah, the temps may have had something to do with the paint being so runny, although where I painted the stuff (in my brother's 15-car garage) has a full ventilation and heating system. It was probably more to do with the humidity, which was over 90% yesterday.

At least there is an insanely comprehensive thread about the Storm Scout here on OCN.
