Please help with overclocking q9450 on an Asus P5N-D

Hello, I am new here and was wondering if you could help me out with the problem I am having. I have a p5n-d (750sli) board. I am running gtx 275 sli and I just got the q9450 as an upgrade from E5300 clocked to 3.3mhz. So far I had no luck at running at anything but the stock speed. I have tried many different set ups that people have tried on the forums and nothing has been succesfull. I have 8gb DDR2 Ram. If you know what to do please help. Here or some options
Vcore - ?
Dram Voltage - ?
HT Voltage- ?
NB Chipset Voltage- ?
SB Chipset Voltage- ?
FSB Memory clock mode - ? (tried linked most of the time)
Memory Ratio - ? (tried 1 to 1 and sync)
Do I do anything in the chipset options?

Thanks for your help

PS. I have just tried
Vcore - 1.32500
Dram Voltage - 1.910
HT Voltage- 1.32
NB Chipset Voltage- 1.40
SB Chipset Voltage- Auto
FSB Memory clock mode - Unlinked (1600 for FSB and 800 RAM)
Memory Ratio 1 to 1
I also disabled all the CPU options where Multiplier is and I put 5-5-5-15 ram setting in the chipset menu

ALL I GOT WAS BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH!

My Specs Are:
Windows 7 64bit Home Edition
Q9450 CPU
GTX 275 SLI
P5N-D Mother Board
Corsair TX 950 non modular PSU
Antec 902 Case
Xigmatek HDT-S1283 CPU Cooler with a the backplate mounting kit
DDR2 8gb of RAM running at 667.0 MHz according to system info from 3d vantage test software.
Temps are running right now at CPU1 56, CPU2 41, CPU3 48, CPU4 49.

Try this
Vcore - 1.375
Dram Voltage - 2
HT Voltage- 1.4
NB Chipset Voltage- 1.4
SB Chipset Voltage- 1.5
FSB Memory clock mode - Unlinked (1600 for FSB and 667 RAM)
Memory Ratio unlinked (set it to 667 ^^)

If that does not work start working up by 5mhz at a time so like 1605, 1610, ect as it might be a FSB hole. Please report back.

Could you also please do a cpuz validation?

Thanks for the reply. I will try the values tomorrow as soon as I get some free time.

I am just trying to get a moderate 3.2 mhz overclock with 400 fsb. Since I don't have a water cooling system it does get kind of hot even with extra side fan (I do live in LA). If I can get more than that I would be a happy man, but I will be satisfied with stable 3.2

8GB of mismatched RAM? I'd go with one stick at a time while you OC. You may likely have problems with both.

OKay just tried the inputs blackout51 gave me. So far so good. It's been only five minutes though. I have taken your advice 2thAche and left only two gigs of ram that my PC came with originally. Here is CPU-Z validation

Now if this runs stable, when I game at least should I run prime95 overnight to make sure there are no errors? Also what do I do with the rest of the raim sticks? Do I put the other 2gb that complement the first stick or do i put or 6gb that I took out?

I have noticed that my ps is a bit slower due to the lack of RAM 2gb is not enough lol

What you want is a matching 2GB. Or just get a new kit, and make it 1066. They are cheap now.

Ight well about 10 minutes ago my windows explorer started crashing and then I got the blue screen of death. I increased my fsb to 1605 like you said then my pc wouldnt turn past the windows sigh which wouldnt even come on. So I put it back to 1600 and fsb at 667. It went to desktop and crashed again. So I changed it back to 800 which was the stock value. CPU-z says:

RAM : 2048 MB DDR2 Single Channel
RAM Speed : 333.3 MHz (6:5) @ 5-5-5-31
Slot 1 : 2048MB (6400)
Slot 1 Manufacturer : PDP Systems

Should I set those values manually in BIOS? Why does it say its 333.3? I also didn't see memory ration option that I didn't unlink it i think unless it unlinks when i change memory clock mode which is unlinked like you said.

I also disabled all of these in the main bios section
Limit cpuid MaxVal
Enchancal c1(c1e)
Execute Disable Bit
Virtualization Tech

So far it seems to be run stable since last time I posted. If it's unstable my windows explorer strats not to respond and either recovers or crashes. I also look at the label of the RAM stick I have in right now. It says:

pgs24g8500c7k
Gseries
ddr2 1066 (7-7-7-20)
4gb (2x2gb) kit. 2.1v

And the other pair is

Crucial
ct25664aa800.m16fj1
2gb 240 - pin ddr2 unbuff. PC2

I have both of those removed right now and just the first one running at 800 in bios

(btw the virtualization took like 20 seconds)
